The Monsoon session of Parliament commenced today (July 28), set to engage in a heated debate regarding the Pahalgam attack and 'Operation Sindoor'. Following a tumultuous first week, both the ruling coalition and the opposition are prepared for a face-off. The military operation, 'Operation Sindoor', was initiated in response to a terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which tragically claimed the lives of 26 innocent individuals. According to sources from a news agency, key figures such as Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar are expected to address these pressing issues. There are indications that Prime Minister Narendra Modi may intervene to highlight his government's strong stance on national security.

Bahujan Samaj Party President Mayawati emphasized that the discussion on 'Operation Sindoor', which begins in Parliament on Monday, should transcend party politics for both the ruling coalition and the opposition. The Lok Sabha is set to initiate discussions today regarding the Pahalgam terrorist attack and 'Operation Sindoor', with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and other senior ministers, along with Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, likely to participate.

Meanwhile, BSP chief Mayawati took to 'X' to state, 'The discussions starting today in Parliament regarding Operation Sindoor should be approached by both the government and the opposition above party politics. It is crucial that no more women lose their sindoor and mothers do not have to mourn their sons; both the government and opposition must work together on a solid strategy, as this is the need of the hour.'
The ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and opposition parties are expected to field their top leaders during the discussions in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. During the debate, the opposition is likely to challenge the government regarding claims of mediation by U.S. President Donald Trump.
